Germania

Germania

Jay McCarroll’s new line Germania is here! These fabrics are colorful, funny and a little wild- just like Jay! I love the contrast of the sophisticated Pucci style colors and damask print with little pointy teeth and googly eyes. These prints have been incredibly popular with all the children that have come in the shop. They immediately gravitate towards it, and say “Mom, look!” I would say that’s a solid indication that these would be perfect for a child’s quilt, pillowcases, or backpack.

Stitch Party Tissue Cover

You can check out Jay’s new prints at Stitch Party this Friday from 5-7PM. For this month’s free craft project, we will be making tissue covers with Germania fabrics. It’s sniffles season, but you can beat the bug by stitching up a cozy for your essential travel tissues. As always, there will be snacks, drinks and all manner of crafty goodness. See you there!

Olga the Mouse Black Book release

Please join us for Stitch Party this Friday, October 2 from 6-8PM for a free mask-making extravaganza! October is my favorite month of the year, mostly due to the fact that it contains Halloween. I love dressing up, carving pumpkins and of course all the candy! Even if you don’t go all out like I do, you know you will be invited to party where costume is required. Don’t be caught last minute wondering what you should be! A simple mask is easy to make and can be cute, silly or scary.

Stitch Party Coffee Cozies

Please join us at Stitch Party this Friday from 5-8PM

Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas hd Interview hd for our first project night! I thought it would be fun to add some free crafting to our usual party style. I’ve been playing around with our rainbow-tastic felt, and found it made a perfect coffee cup cozy. I used a paper cozy from the coffee shop as my template and traced the shape with my scallop edged rotary blades. Add some velcro tabs and you have the perfect canvas for making a unique cozy. No one will accidentally drink your coffee again!

Stitch Party Coffee Cozy

Take advantage of the cute embroidery stitches on our machines and layer felts and fabrics to make a cozy collage. As usual, there will be food, drink and creative company. See you there!

is Betz’s latest book, and it is just gorgeous!

Eco-consciousness is on everyone’s mind, and Betz takes the approach that DIY sewing is, in itself, environmentally friendly. Sewing Green teaches you how to repurpose materials you already own, and showcases items made from organic fabrics and thrift store finds. Projects range from reversible wrap skirts to reusable wraps for your sandwiches! Each one is full of creativity, style, and a touch of wonderful whimsy.

This class is open to all skill levels, but familiarity with sewing machine basics is recommended. Participants may make one or many bags depending on projects selected and prior skill level. You may bring your own favorite scraps to add to your bags but your class fee covers all the items you need. This is a unique opportunity to learn from an innovative and talented artist!

MYOB is Saturday, April 25th from 10AM-2PM. The class fee is $55 with all materials included. Class space is limited, so be sure to call the shop and reserve your space today!
