Bird Mobile made by Anthropologie Designers

One of our favorite stores, Anthropologie, has a headquarters here in Philadelphia. Besides all the great shopping, we are lucky to count many of their creative staff as customers. Meredith is one of them, and she let us know about a special project they have been working on. Inspired by our Bird Mobile, designers from different departments stitched a personalized bird using our pattern. Then, they gathered their flock together and created a mobile for a co-worker expecting her first baby. So sweet!

Birds 006 Adam Resurrected on dvd

Each little birdie has been embroidered, embellished, and comes complete with note full of well wishes for their friend. I love all of the special details, from lace trim to colorful wings. Having access to all the bits and bobs they must have in their offices would be so much fun! The new mom says the mobile was “by far and without a doubt the absolute best gift” they have received. Amazing job! Thanks so much for sharing, Meredith!

081

When I arrived back from my vacation (which was lovely, thanks for askin’!), there were some super surprises waiting for me! The fabric delivery elves had dropped off some new designs Adam Resurrected hd from Japanese company, Lecien. This line is called Minny Muu- a fittingly adorable name for such sweet fabrics. The tiny scale of these prints is so appealing! Perfect for baby clothes and quilts, the colors can easily be worked for a boy or girl. Of course, once you start looking at them, you imagine little coin purses or zipper pouches for a grown-up girl with a whimsical nature. You wouldn’t happen to know anyone like that, would you (wink, wink!)?

If the new fabrics were not enough of a surprise, look at what the Spool elves were up to while I was gone.

Bedtime Story Pajamas In Minny Muu

Bedtime Story Pajamas! This is one of my favorite Oliver + S patterns, and it looks so wonderful in Minny Muu. Using a cute moon and star print, Elizabeth stitched them up beautifully. I especially love the contrasting striped trim. Just perfect! What a nice welcome back surprise!

Vacation Quilt

August has come around so quickly, I can’t quite believe it! That means vacation here at Spool, and I am taking a little time off. While I am planning on doing some serious relaxing, I did cut these cute little squares from Joel Dewberry’s Deer Valley to take home with me. They could become a quilt top if I hear the call of the sewing machine and decide to answer!

Spool’s summer vacation hours:

We will be closed August 3-7 and August 10-14.

We will be open next weekend: Saturday, August 8, 11-6 PM and Sunday, August 9, 11-4PM. Jessica and Elizabeth will be here all weekend, so stop in and say hi!

We will resume our regular schedule Saturday, August 15.

Happy Summer! See you in two weeks!Black Book rip
