The Michael Miller display at Quilt Market was one of the prettiest at the show, and they presented one the most exciting new designers, Laura Gunn. Laura is a painter who has translated her paintings into the Lantern Bloom collection. She creates a unique color story and a beautiful layering of textures, allowing you to see the hand of the artist. The birdcages and twining trees capture the imagination and make you feel as though you’ve encountered something truly special.

Our customers are always looking for fun prints for the little ones, in particular little boys. Michael Miller always has a great variety of children’s fabrics, and these are no exception! Bot Camp is an adorable line that is perfect for little boys, or anyone that loves robots ( and let’s face it, don’t we all!). Gears, ray guns, & spaceships all make an appearance in this story of robots gone to summer camp. So cute!
If there’s one thing I know that everyone loves, it’s cute birdie fabric! I have had quite a few requests for owl fabric, so this one will soon be making it’s way to roost at Spool. I just had to have the folk art inspired birds, as well. Between these and Laura Gunn’s birds & birdcages, we should be able to happily sew with our feathered friends for quite a while!
These fabrics will start arriving starting June & July, along with a few fun surprises. It’s shaping up to be a great summer!
